How to get from the Atlanta Airport to the SICB convention
hotels for $1.50 and [almost] not go outside.
In the Atlanta airport, go to the
MARTA station and buy a token ($1.50, machines take coins and bills).
Get on the train [it's the end of the line] and get off at Peachtree
Center, Station N1. This takes about 20 minutes. Walk in the
direction the train is going to the end of the station and follow
signs to hotels and Peachtree Center. You will go up a VERY long
escalator. As you exit the escalator building, go to your right
[sign points to Peachtree Street] and go through the glass doors into
Peachtree Center. Oriental Express is to the left of these doors.
Go straight ahead to the other end of the food court [Blue Chip
Cookies is at the other end if you get lost]. Continue beyond Blue
Chip Cookies onto the skywalk. At the entry, the sign reads
"Athletic Club & Courtland Parking Garage". Alternatively, just
following signs to "Courtland Parking Garage" will take you the same
way. The skywalk ends in Courtland Parking Garage. Take the
elevator to the second floor and go out to Courtland Street. Turn
right and walk a half block to the Hilton or 1.5 blocks to the
Travelodge. Or turn left and walk a half block to the Sheraton. See
map.
